Feng Shui as Relating to House
Plans
| The flow of Chi energy from one entity to another is the
basis of Feng Shui. The chi energy you take in from your
environment influences your moods, emotions, physical energy
and, over time, your health. Chi energy is carried through
the environment by wind, water, the sun's solar energy,
light and sound.
The basic aim of Feng Shui is to enable you to position
yourself where this natural flow of chi energy helps you to
realize your goals and your dreams in life. The basic
premise of Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese art of placement,
is universally appealing.

The most important contributor to the
Feng-Shui of a house
is the surrounding environment, including natural landforms
and nearby buildings. If you find problems in the
surrounding environment (for example, malevolent landforms
like jagged rocks and steep cliffs, grotesque-looking trees,
threatening structures such as large power transformers, or
a road running straight at the house), there's no point in
looking at the house or its floor plans. |
To change the
feng-shui of the external environment, you may have to
undertake difficult, expensive, or impossible actions such
as moving the landforms, altering the course of a river, or
getting your city to change its road patterns.
When Feng Shui directives are followed in the creation of a
floor plan, the type and placement of furniture and artwork
and the choice of finishes and colors, happiness and
prosperity should come to the occupants of a house.
Most Feng Shui directives appeal to common sense and "proper
balance" is another way of describing good design. Moreover,
you don't have to build a custom house to get one with good
Feng Shui "basics." |
